Adrian Quaife-Hobbs at silverstone

The 14 year-old in only his first season in car racing has proved the revelation of the season, his double victory at the Northamptonshire track taking his total to three wins from ten rounds beating the more experienced opposition. Qualifying in fourth for the first of two 15 minutes races at the Northamptonshire track, Adrian made a blinding start to run side-by-side with pole-sitter Jack Timpany and Championship leader Daniel Laddiman on the run up to Copse corner. He bravely hung on to the line to take the lead from the two more experienced drivers and gradually extended his lead to one and a half seconds.

Laddiman briefly lost second to Timpany but regained the spot and despite all efforts to pressure Adrian into a mistake, it was Laddiman himself who made an error, allowing Adrian to record a two-second advantage at the flag.

Race two again had Adrian fourth on the grid and another superb getaway saw him past Williams into third by the time they entered the first corner and then quickly dispose of Laddiman before the completion of the first lap.

For three laps he sat on the back bumper of Timpany at the front and with a stunning manoeuvre took the lead on lap four at Becketts. Despite coming under immense pressure from Timpany, Adrian hung on to the lead and gradually extended the advantage to almost four and a half seconds at the flag.

"What a great weekend," said Adrian.
"The second race particularly was the best ever, I think I drove the best I've ever done, the car was great, Jack was a good clean rival and the PR Motorsport team did a great job in preparing the car. These two wins have moved me right into contention for the title now although I know the others have much more experience which will count a lot when we go to the next two races, at Cadwell Park next month."
