With many grids being over subscribed and the prospect of A and B finals to determine winners at this penultimate championship meeting, the day looked to be filled with some promising racing.
A strong and large contingent of regular and returnee drivers contested the Minimax grand final. With current championship leader Adrian Hobbs and ex cadet karter Sam Smithson setting the fastest two times in qualifying, it looked set to be an exciting day’s racing. Following the ‘B’ final, the fast and furious grand final set off with Sam Smithson storming off into the distance taking a comfortable lead. A battle was ensuing for 2 nd place between Adrian and another returnee Lewis Reeves, with further exciting drama taking place behind with another gaggle of drivers consisting of amongst others Laura Tillett, Bradley Smith and Steven Durrant. This mid field battle allowed the leaders to extend their lead with Sam taking the well deserved win from Adrian in 2 nd and Lewis Reeves in 3 rd.
